# MCP Registry

The MCP Registry is Katara's managed registry for approved MCP servers and tools.

It gives teams a governed catalog for the tools AI is allowed to discover and call, instead of relying on one-off links, undocumented endpoints, or fragile manual setup.

## What it governs

The MCP Registry is documented as a discovery and control layer for technical teams and as an approved tool list for business, security, and compliance teams.

It helps teams:

* centralize approved MCP servers and tool endpoints;
* attach ownership, permissions, and policy to each entry;
* reduce brittle one-off integrations;
* make the approved tool surface easier to audit.

## How to think about it

Katara publishes tools like a governed catalog. Agents discover the registry, resolve approved servers, and call through paths that preserve ownership, permissions, and visibility.

Client-specific MCP setup instructions are intentionally not included here.
